Principal's Message
Welcome to the 2025–2026 school year!
It is with great excitement that I welcome both our returning and new families to Cortez. Each new year offers a fresh start, new opportunities, and the chance to continue building a strong, supportive school community together.
At Cortez, we are committed to creating a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment where every student can grow academically, socially, and emotionally. Our dedicated teachers and staff have been working hard preparing for a successful year filled with meaningful learning, inspiring projects, and joyful experiences.
We value the partnership between home and school and believe that communication and collaboration are key to student success. Throughout the year, you can expect regular updates, opportunities to get involved, and open lines of communication. Your voice and involvement matter, and we encourage you to participate actively in our school community. As partners, we will work hard to ensure we carry out our responsibilities, and ask that you support your child’s learning by ensuring that they:
- Attend school daily, on time, and ready to learn.
- Ensure all homework assignments are completed.
- Communicate with the teacher or office staff through a phone call, PARENT SQUARE, or email, informing us of any changes.
- Ensure your child is wearing their school uniform daily.
- Take the time to read at home with your child. Comprehension comes with reading fluency.
Whether your child is beginning kindergarten, transitioning to a new grade, or preparing for graduation, we are here to support them every step of the way. Let’s work together to make this school year one of growth, achievement, and lasting memories.
Thank you for entrusting us with your child’s education. I look forward to a wonderful year ahead!
With warm regards,
Dr. Madrigal
